I am Keokia Childress—a woman of faith, a widow, a proud mother of four amazing daughters, and a loving grandmother. I was married to my husband, Kevin Childress, for 27 years before his passing in 2021. The life we built together and the lessons I have gained through love, loss, faith, and perseverance have shaped the woman and servant-leader I am today.

Born in Louisiana and raised in Inglewood, I have called this city home since 1980. My service began at age 16 at Rogers Park and has grown into a lifetime of civic and community involvement. I have served eight years on the Inglewood Housing Commission and nearly a decade as co-founder and producer of Taste of Inglewood, bringing residents, businesses, and community partners together.

For more than 24 years, I have been a small-business owner, employer, manager, and business consultant. From helping grow Spa 313 to founding Keokia’s Kitchen and supporting other local entrepreneurs, my work has always centered on people. My leadership is rooted in faith, compassion, integrity and action because I believe leadership is earned through service.

When elected, I will lead with accountability, visibility, humanity, and compassion.
